Empowering SMEs: ICE Commercial’s Solar Initiative in the Niger Delta
Challenge: Some SMEs in Delta and Edo states struggled with electricity access, reflective of the wider Nigerian energy dilemma and its impact on small businesses.
Action: In 2019, a $100,000 combined grant from USADF and AllON, with DDI’s assistance, aimed to connect 105 enterprises to solar energy, promoting economic and environmental sustainability.
Result: Over 70 kWp of solar energy now powers 107 SMEs, including 48 women-led businesses, enhancing productivity and sustainability in the Niger Delta region.
