Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI)
Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI) is a Nigerian not-for-profit organization established in 2002. DDI complements the role of development agencies, donors, and other funding organizations by providing technical assistance in the design, planning, and implementation of various development initiatives. Our focus areas include business support and enterprise management, agricultural value chain development, renewable/off-grid energy support, youth employability enhancement, entrepreneurship programs, and grants management
DDI provides technical support and enterprise management services to organizations. We assist in business planning, product design, marketing, identification of marketing channels, and facilitation of market linkages. Our aim is to help organizations enhance their business operations and achieve sustainable growth.
DDI works with smallholder farmers’ groups, cooperatives, and producer groups to provide sustained value chain development and improvement. We offer a range of services necessary for enhancing agricultural products as they move from the farm/producer to the final consumer. Our focus is on increasing the incomes of farmers by facilitating efficient product marketing and access to commodity markets.
DDI supports the provision of sustainable power to underserved and unserved communities in Nigeria. We work closely with local energy entrepreneurs to deploy off-grid, renewable energy solutions across the country. Our aim is to improve access to clean and reliable energy, contributing to the overall development and well-being of communities.

DDI provides industry- and trade-relevant job-readiness vocational skills to youth, enabling them to either launch their small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) or take up available employment opportunities. We also facilitate support for youth and women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, providing them access to grant funding to launch and expand their businesses.

DDI provides technical assistance to donors and grant beneficiaries. Our services include screening grant applicants, conducting pre-grant award due diligence, financial record-keeping, disbursement tracking, project monitoring and evaluation, grant closeouts, and more. We ensure effective management and utilization of grants to achieve desired outcomes.
DDI’s mission is to build a society that provides equitable opportunities for self-actualization through economic empowerment and sustainable livelihood initiatives. Our values include accountability, transparency, dedication, commitment, honesty, integrity, empathy for the poor, humility, and professionalism.
Since its inception, DDI has worked in a total of 29 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
