DDiAdmiNToday is World Food Day. It is an initiative of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO). As a global event, the day is marked worldwide by raising global awareness and collective action to combat the issue of hunger and ensure healthy diets or food habits for all.
This theme for this year’s commemoration is: “Our actions are our future – Better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life”.
Today, we celebrate all those who are working to build resilient food systems. We celebrate our food heroes and heroines who ensure that the journey of food from the farm to our tables, is safe for humanity and the planet, no matter the circumstances.
As an organization, some of our core areas of focus are centered on Agricultural Commodity Market Access Services and Agricultural Value Chain Improvement support to smallholder farmers and cooperative groups who play very vital roles in the food systems in Nigeria.
We remain committed to working with our funders and partners to tackle food needs and join in the global fight against food insecurity.
