USADF-funded youth entrepreneur Adepeju Jaiyeoba is the founder of Mother’s Delivery Kits, a Lagos-based social enterprise that promotes and enhances safe births, instigates behavioural change and economically empower women in Nigeria. In 2020, and in the midst of the pandemic, ‘Peju”, as she is fondly called, launched a second venture, Colourful Giggles Nutrition, to produce Nigeria’s first all-natural ‘instant’ baby cereal, requiring no cooking and using 100% local ingredients. Peju’s Colourful Giggles set out to run with the mission: to kick out hidden hunger and ensure that every child everywhere on the continent has access to healthy, natural, quality and affordable nutritious food made from local ingredients in line with every global baby food standard.” Produced according to WHO standard to prevent malnutrition and hidden hunger, a serving of Colourful Giggles provides up to 18 vitamins and minerals, meeting the recommended daily nutritional needs of growing babies and toddlers.

One year after, Colourful Giggles – the cereals made entirely from local grains, fruits, and vegetables and helping to combat malnutrition and stunted growth in children – both of which are severe problems in Africa, has been named one of the winners of the 2021 United Nations Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Catalyzed by COVID-19 for SDG Impact Project.

We are glad that Colourful Giggles is not only accomplishing great things but also being recognized globally. Indeed, while every child deserves a Giggle, every Colourful Giggles deserves an award!

No doubt, this will be only the first of many more proud moments for you and your enterprise. We look forward to seeing even more great things from Colourful Giggles!

Congratulations!
