Adamu Garba

Executive Director

Adamu’s earlier career was spent as an auditor from 1993 to 1999 – first at Ernst & Young and later at Olawale Coker & Co. He served as Regional Finance Officer in the USAID Nigeria Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) Project from 1999 to 2001. His role involved conducting pre-award visits to potential grantees, managing disbursements of grants, and monitoring, training and providing technical assistance to grantees.

Adamu served as Team Leader for the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) program during its very first year of operating in Nigeria from 2001 to 2002. He has been serving as the head of USADF’s implementing partner organization in Nigeria – Diamond Development Initiatives – from 2002 to date. Adamu has 18 years experience in community development work.

Adamu is a recipient of the prestigious British Chevening Award – a scheme of Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office that seeks to identify “high-calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership.” He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Technology from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, Nigeria; a Masters degree in Development Studies from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria; a Postgraduate Certificate in Development Education and Training from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, and an MSc in Project Management from the University of East London, United Kingdom.

Afis Olaoye

Finance and Administration Manager

Afis has over 13 years of experience managing donor funds as the Financial Officer of DDI. He is a Chartered accountant and an experienced financial analyst. He holds an HND in Business Administration, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance, a Master’s Degree in Treasury Management and another Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

He is highly experienced in budget formulation, budgetary control and cash flow management. He has sound knowledge of various accounting software. Afis has practical skills in the area of project monitoring and evaluation including financial management. He has vast experience in developing financial projections and managing multiple portfolios. He has facilitated various training in accounting and grants management and is familiar with reporting requirements of international donor organizations.

Bello Haruna

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

Bello is an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. He obtained a BSc in Agricultural Economics from ABU Zaria and an MSc in International Development from the University of Manchester. Bello was a recipient of the British Chevening Award. He has a wealth of experience in the coordination and development of networks of partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, CBOs and other self-help groups and associations. He is well-grounded in the theory and practice of project cycle management with particular emphasis on participatory approaches.

Bello is a team player with cross-cultural experience and personal commitment to activities that would engender socio-economic development of the society and empowerment of less privileged groups. In the course of work and academic pursuit, he has also developed a range of transferrable skills in projects and people management, effective communication and teamwork. He is very conversant with participatory approaches and their effectiveness in pro-poor and grassroots development. He is also conversant with project monitoring and evaluation tools such as Outcome Mapping (OM) and Most Significant Change (MSC).

Oluwasayo Atetedaye

Project Development Officer

Oluwasayo Atetedaye is an experienced Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the Banking, Administration, and Finance Industry. As a strong Program and Project Management Professional, she is well-skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Business Development, Administration, Financial Accounting, Audit & Reconciliation, and Research. She is a Chartered Accountant; and holds a B.A.(Hons) International Accounting from The University of Northampton, UK and M.Sc. Computer Systems Auditing from London Metropolitan University, UK.

She is an alumni of European Energy Centre (EEC) and The George Washington University with a Galileo Master’s Certification in Renewable Energy Market Trends and Finance. ‘Sayo is currently involved in the management of The United States Government Power Africa Program where she conducts pre-award due diligence, supports the implementation of milestones, provides remediation assistance, assist grantees in budgets and procurements as well as the facilitation of follow-on financing.

Adeoti Tosin

Project Development Officer

Tosin Adeoti is a seasoned project manager with certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Scaled Scrum Master (SSM), and PRINCE2. With a proven track record in various sectors including Skills Development, Sustainable Livelihood, Educational Management, and Construction, Tosin possesses extensive experience in project development and execution.

His expertise lies in project planning for skills acquisition and employability programs targeted at vulnerable and marginalized populations. Additionally, he excels in business development, housing projects, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.

Tosin holds a registration as a Civil Engineer from the Council for the Registration of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is also a certified Master Trainer from the Australian Vocational and Technical Education Group (AVTEG) and holds HSE (Level 1, 2, 3) certification from Prime International Risk and Safety Management, a member of the British Safety Council, United Kingdom.

Throughout his career, Tosin has played a pivotal role in various projects, including the EU-sponsored provision of micro-project infrastructure in the Niger Delta. In this initiative, local youths undergo training and actively participate in project execution of several infrastructural projects in their communities. Additionally, he contributed to the UNDP-sponsored program, which provided employability skills training to 5046 youths and successfully placed 3079 of them in paid employment.

Currently, Tosin is engaged in program management for the United States African Development Foundation (USADF)-Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) Employability Program. This five-year, $10 million commitment aims to create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for 15,000 Lagos State residents. Through his leadership and expertise, Tosin continues to make significant contributions to the socio-economic development of the community.

Francis Aderibigbe

Project Coordinator, Feed the Future Water For Agriculture (WFA) Activity

As Project Coordinator on the USAID Water for Agriculture Activity currently being implemented by DDI in selected communities in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States, Francis provides leadership and direction to ensure timely and effective delivery of the strategic objectives of the project within the scope and budget. Francis is an Agronomist and Agricultural Extension service delivery professional with many years of committed service in the public, private and developmental sectors, working with smallholder farmers in different capacities, facilitating the transfer of appropriate, demand-driven, adaptable, ecologically sustainable, innovative technologies and practices. He is very passionate about improving the status of smallholder farmers through mentoring and coaching, building their capacity, and facilitating their access to the right information, knowledge and institutional supports.

Francis served as the Project Coordinator on the USAID Feed the Future Nigeria Livelihoods Project – Northeast expansion project, a multisectoral intervention which DDI implemented in FCT, Sokoto, Kebbi, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States. He has also managed and coordinated several other projects successfully. As an Agronomist/Extension specialist, he led the execution of ECOWAS-RAAF/ Spanish International Development agency’s project on the empowerment of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through agriculture and improved livelihoods and income generation. Francis also provided oversight responsibility as Lead Coordinator/Agronomist on the USAID Markets II Cassava Value Chain project in FCT. Some of his other professional areas of interest include Sustainable Agricultural Land Management, Agribusiness development and Management, Value Chain Development and Project Proposal development. A certified Project management professional and Crop Protection Products’ specialist, Francis attended the University of Ibadan where he obtained a BSc (with Honors) in Agriculture (Crop Science option) and an MSc in Agronomy, specializing in farming systems. Francis holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology from the Redeemers Bible College.

Farida Oji

M&E Officer, USAID Feed the Future, Rural Resilience Activity (RRA) Enterprise Investment Fund (EIF) Project Gombe State

Farida Oji is a highly skilled and seasoned Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with a wealth of experience garnered from diverse roles within reputable organizations. Over the course of her career, Farida has demonstrated proficiency in various aspects of project monitoring and evaluation, underscoring her commitment to fostering sustainable development and building resilience in underserved communities.

She has worked as an M & E officer with Diamond Development Initiatives on the DDI CRS-led USAID funded Water for Agriculture and DDI Mercy Corps Nigeria-led USAID funded Resilience Activity projects. She has expertise in Data Management, Data Analysis, Result Measurement, and Impact Assessment. She is also highly skilled in Project Research, Project Management, Project Communication, and Leadership and Teamwork.

Farida holds a first-class degree in Medical Biochemistry from Tansian University, Anambra State and a master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry from Bayero University Kano. She has just completed her Master in Public Health degree from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Mamun Suleiman Jahun

Project Development Officer

Mamun Jahun is an experienced Process Manager with over 10 years’ experience in project design, implementation, and assessment. A graduate of Economics, a Master’s in Development Studies, and MBA, as well as having his core competency areas as research, monitoring, and evaluation, Mamun has a special interest in gender-specific M&E.

He has supported a wide variety of partners and stakeholders to develop and strengthen their capacity in the area of project monitoring and assessment including progress documentation and reporting, Data Quality Assessment (DQA), and tracking performance and improvement plans. He has experience deploying mobile data collection tools, database, and analysis software for effective and efficient harvest of high-quality data.

Mamun is a trained Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) standards specialist and a certified Business Development Support Practitioner. He has successfully managed several economic growth projects and Private Sector Development (PSD) projects using market systems approach/M4P. Mamun has worked on projects funded by FCDO (formerly DFID), Global Alliance Canada, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He worked for DDI under the USADF programme from 2004 to 2012 and is back on the team as the Project Development Officer in Kebbi State.

David Arinze

Program Officer, Off Grid Energy Program

David Arinze is a multi-competency professional who is passionate about increasing electricity access to deprived climes through relevant energy sources. His Industry experience revolves around Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Off-Grid Energy.

As the Program Officer, Off-Grid Energy, he works closely with local energy entrepreneurs, regulatory authorities, vendors, and other stakeholders to manage the deployment and sustainability of off-grid energy solutions in both unserved and underserved communities across Nigeria. He does this through the provision of technical assistance, grants management, project monitoring, remediation support and the facilitation of access to follow-on financing.

David believes that increasing electricity access through clean energy sources is a path worth threading because of its environmental and health benefits and the swift deployment involved in its technology.

Mary Akpa

Program Assistant

Mary Akpa joined DDI in 2015, as Program Assistant, where she provides programmatic support for project planning, implementation, and general administration. She also acts as a liaison between grantees and DDI management for the dissemination of information. Her first stint in the development sector – prior to joining DDI, was with the UNDP as a National Youth Advocate under the UN My World survey of 2014.

Mary who acquired her legal training from Kogi State University and Nigerian Law School – Enugu Campus, started legal practice in Lokoja with the firm of Salisu Umar & Co, before joining O.J. Onoja SAN & Co and thereafter J.J. Usman & Co in Abuja. While in legal practice, Mary was actively involved in litigation (civil and criminal), corporate practice, property law, legal drafting/conveyance and other ADR processes. She is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) and has a professional Master’s degree in Conflict, Security and Development (MCSD) from the Nigerian Defence Academy Postgraduate School.

Philip Aworinde

Program Assistant

Philip Aworinde has over 4 years of working experience on the USADF Nigeria core portfolio program. He is experienced in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Vast in the use of participatory development methodologies, Philip has co-facilitated several participatory monitoring and evaluation sessions for farmers’ cooperative groups in Nigeria. He is well experienced in managing donor funds and USADF reporting requirements. He currently assists rural farmers in underserved communities to access financial support and capacity building.

He obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the University of Ilorin and a Post Graduate Diploma in Beef & Dairy Cattle Production from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Philip is a member of the YALI Network and Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD). He is also a certified facilitator on Household Strengthening Systems by USAID MARKETS II/MakingCents International.

Beatrice Augustine Ehiabhi

Beatrice Augustine Ehiabhi is currently the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist for the GAIN Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples (SNIPS) Home Gardens Project. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing and implementing the project’s monitoring and evaluation activities to track progress, measure impact, and ensure the project’s success. With her background in Agricultural Economics and experience in program coordination and training, Beatrice brings a wealth of expertise to the position. She works closely with the project team and stakeholders to collect relevant data, analyze outcomes, and report on project activities.

Beatrice Augustine Ehiabhi is a highly motivated professional with a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from Moddibbo Adama University of Technology and a B. Agric in Agricultural Economics from the University of Maiduguri. She excels in project management and agricultural training, having served as a Program Officer for USAID Rural Resilience Activity and a Trainer for Farmers’ Field School under Mercy Corps. Beatrice demonstrates strong communication and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software. Her work history includes teaching agricultural science and economics, data enumeration, and research in Adamawa and Kaduna States.

She is articulate, goal-oriented, and a valuable team player, adept at integrating new ideas for desired results. With a focus on nutrition-sensitive agriculture and sustainable practices, Beatrice is a proactive professional committed to contributing to the growth of any organization she works with.

Yohanna Joel Zadawaye

Yohanna Joel Zadawaye is currently the Project Officer for the Rural Resilience Activity (RRA) in Yola field office. In his capacity, he is responsible for overseeing project implementation at community level and facilitates collaboration between project stakeholders. With his background in Agricultural related field and his vast experience in program facilitation and training, he brings a wealth of expertise to the position.

Malas Mafindi

Malas Mafindi is currently the project officer for the Feed the Future, Enterprise Investment Fund project in partnership with Mercy corps Gombe State. With more than 7 years’ experience in the Northeast Programming and development projects, he is adept to the cultural, Political and religious setting of the communities.

Moreover, his experience has afforded him a well-rounded skill set, including leading market system related activities, demonstrable ability to solve problems, think and plan strategically, and communicate with key actors in a dynamic and unpredictable operating environment, excellent community mobilization skills, Strong skills in monitoring, evaluation, research and conducting participatory, community-led assessments, first-rate critical and analytical thinking skills which is suitable for effective collaborations.

He works with various organizations, much researched focus and have for most part enjoyed using his skills to carryout research on a number of human development and sustainable projects. He has in-depth experience in planning and delivering training of trainers (TOT) and community mobilization. He has received specialized training’s in M&E Mapping and other community prioritization, ranking tools and methodology. His goal is to immerse him self in a rigorous excised that is relevant to his career and development work.

Taofeeq Akinola

Taofeeq Akinola, is a seasoned agriculturalist, specializing in crop production and protection (Plant Science) with a career spanning 15 years in the Nigerian agriculture sector. As an agricultural extension officer, he has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector.

He has worked across the south-west, north-west, and north-east geo-political zones, gaining insights into the unique agricultural landscapes of each region. His professional journey includes roles in the public sector, organized private sector, and the development sector. This has honed his ability to navigate and contribute effectively to various facets of the agricultural domain.

Over the past 8 years, he has ascended through roles such as Program Manager, Zonal Coordinator, and currently, Project Coordinator in the development sector. He remains committed to driving impactful projects that address the needs of smallholder farmers. He is driven by a passion for advancing sustainable agriculture, improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, and contributing to the overall growth of Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.

Wazih Chingle

Agronomist, GAIN Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples (SNiPS) Home Garden Initiative Nasarawa State.

Wazih is an inquisitive professional with a Masters degree in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding and a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science and Technology both in the University of Jos,  Jos-Nigeria.A versatile individual, she has a good sense of discipline, integrity, respect for others and commitment to assigned roles and responsibilities. She also excels as a Field officer, showing meticulous attention to details with good communication skills to work independently as well as in a team.

She’s passionate about agriculture, and a knack for home gardening, greenhouses, etc . Dr. Teryima Iorlamen

DDI Agronomist on DDI/GAIN SNiPs Home Garden Project, Benue State

Dr Teryima is a trained Agronomist; a Seed System Specialist and an Agricultural value Chain consultant. He holds both MSc and PhD in Crop Physiology.

He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Crop Production, College of Agronomy, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka, University, Makurdi Nigeria.He is also a Research fellow with IITA, Principal Investigator IITA/JOSTUM AVISA Cowpea Seed System.

Dr Teryima is the DDI Agronomist on DDI/GAIN SNiPs Home Garden Project in Benue State.

Adewole, Aderemi Olusegun

SENIOR AGRONOMIST FOR GAIN SNIPS PROJECT, OYO STATE

Adewole, Aderemi Olusegun a Certified Project Management for Development Professional 2 and a holder Master of Science degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, University of Ibadan with expertise in Livelihood Analysis, Market Analysis and Market data, Project Facilitation and Capacity Building, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting, Market Facilitation and Linkages. He is also an alumnus of Wagenigen Centre for Development Innovations, Netherland with certification in making agriculture work for food and nutrition security.

His professional career spans over 15 years working in agricultural development sectors with both public, private & development sectors. He has managed USAID Feed the Future Livelihood Project introducing best agronomic and farm management practices to farmers in Maize, Rice, Sorghum and Millet Value Chain, He also worked as Project Manager with a Private Sector Development Foundation, British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation transiting rural smallholder farmers from subsistence to commercial agriculture providing technical and managerial support for the implementation of the Foundation intervention in 16 states of the federation working with farmer groups, small and medium enterprises processors.

He is presently the Senior Agronomist for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) funded Strengthening Nutrition for Priorities Staples Project targeting about 1564 smallholder farmers in the 4 LGAs in Oyo State to improve the access and consumption of safe and nutritious foods in Nigeria, particularly the consumption of four major priority staples – Cassava, Maize, Rice and Potato, thereby bringing forward innovations with the potential to contribute to smallholder farmer livelihoods and sustainable rural development.

Osasumwen Aizehi Banmah

Osasumwen Aizehi Banmah is a highly skilled and experienced Accountant currently contributing her expertise at Diamond Development Initiatives, where she has been instrumental since October 2020. Osasumwen is committed to enhancing organizational efficiency and promoting a culture of hard work and development. With a robust educational background, including a B.Sc. in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University and a Diploma in Accounting from the University of Benin, she has consistently demonstrated her academic excellence and professional prowess.

Her career has been marked by a series of progressive roles, including significant contributions at AB Microfinance Bank as a Cashier and Showbiz Network Services as an Account Officer, before her impactful role at Diamond Development Initiatives. In her current position as the Finance and Admin Assistant, she is responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with procurement practices, managing staff benefits, and overseeing project grants and disbursements. Osasumwen’s proficiency in IT, with skills in SPSS, Microsoft Office, Proactis, and QuickBooks, complements her professional memberships in the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA). Her hobbies, which include playing indoor games, reading, and cooking, along with her special attributes of minimal supervision performance, public relations, communication skills, honesty, and endurance, make her a valuable asset to any team.

Maria Ene Ameh

MONITORING, EVALUATION AND LEARNING OFFICER, USAID FEED THE FUTURE RURAL RESILIENCE ACTIVITY (RRA)/ ENTERPRISE INVESTMENT FUND (EIF) PROJECT YOBE STATE

Maria is a Monitoring and Evaluation specialist with proven skills in data analytics,
information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) and Research
methodology. She has over eight years of experience working in several non-profit
organizations. She is also a seasoned Agricultural Extension Manager.

Naomi Landiya

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Assistant for the Feed the Future Nigeria Rural Resilience Activity.

Naomi is responsible for monitoring and tracking of activities, using adaptive program management to track improved practices and behavioural change amongst program participants, whilst documenting kkey learnings for informed program decision.

Naomi has over 6 years of demonstrated success in Rural Community Development, Social and Behavioural Change, with a Bachelors Degree in Biology Education from the University of Maiduguri and M.Ed. in Guidance and Counselling from the National Open University of Nigeria.

Jibril Buduwara

Project Officer, USAID Feed the Future, Rural Resilience Activity (RRA) Enterprise Investment Fund (EIF) Project Gombe State

Jibril is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) professional with five years of experience in the field. He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Entomology and Parasitology, which has equipped him with a deep understanding of the transmission and control of vector-borne diseases, such as malaria.

He also has strong analytical skills, which he has applied to designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for various projects. In addition to his expertise in MEAL, Jibril has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Jibril’s qualifications and experience enable him to effectively contribute to the design and implementation of malaria interventions.

Joseph Eneche

Joseph Eneche is the Finance and Administration Officer with a proven track record of meticulous financial management and administrative excellence. He earned his Degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, showcasing his foundational expertise in managing financial and quantitative data with utmost accuracy and precision. Joseph is committed to enhancing organizational growth through diligent oversight of financial transactions, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Before his tenure at Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI), Joseph contributed his skills as a Support Accountant at Alternative Livelihoods Initiatives, where he honed his proficiency in financial reporting and documentation. In January 2020, he embarked on a new journey with DDI, stepping into a pivotal role as a Finance and Administration Officer for the USAID Water for Agriculture Activity in Adamawa State. Here, he is entrusted with the critical responsibility of documenting and reporting all financial liquidations to the Principal Activity Recipient. This project is dedicated to boosting the agricultural productivity and production capacity of smallholder farmers, aligning with Joseph’s passion for contributing to meaningful development initiatives.


Outside of his professional pursuits, Joseph finds joy in teaching, as well as listening to and singing sacred music, reflecting his well-rounded character and dedication to personal growth and community engagement.

Fakoya Oludotun Olufunmilayo

Agronomist GAIN SNiPS Project

Fakoya Oludotun Olufunmilayo, born on September 29, 1972, serves as the esteemed Agronomist for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) funded Strengthening Nutrition for Priority Staples (SNiPS) Project. Based in Ibadan, Oyo State, Fakoya plays a pivotal role in advancing the project’s mission to enhance the access and consumption of safe and nutritious foods among approximately 1564 smallholder farmers across four Local Government Areas in Oyo State, Nigeria. His work focuses on promoting the consumption of four major priority staples: Cassava, Maize, Rice, and Potato. Through his efforts, Fakoya is dedicated to introducing innovations that not only support smallholder farmer livelihoods but also contribute to sustainable rural development in the region.

With a rich background in agronomy, Fakoya brings to the table extensive experience from previous positions held at Dizengoff W/A Nig Ltd, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan, and the DAWN Commission Agric Department Ibadan. Married and of Christian faith, he hails from Ogun State, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is instrumental in driving the SNiPS Project towards its goals. Fakoya’s commitment to improving nutrition and fostering sustainable agricultural practices in Nigeria positions him as a key figure in the country’s journey towards food security and agricultural innovation.

Dahiru Ahmed

Project Officer DDI/RRA/EIF Project In Yobe State

Dahiru Ahmed has more than 5 years’ experience in the Northeast Programming and development projects, he is much familiar to the cultural, Political and socioeconomic land scape of the northeastern communities.

He has obtained his Master’s in Development Studies from the Federal University Dutse (2019), Master in Microbiology from IIUM Malaysia(2016). And a Bachelor of Vet. Medicine from UNIMAID (2010).

He has wide experience in herders’ and farmers’ organization, crop and livestock value chain and market analysis, skills for marketing and rural transformation (SMART), financial basics for farmers and herders’ and climate change/climate smart agricultural solutions for farmers and agropastoral communities. Other areas of expertise include animal health management, vaccination, waterborne zoonotic diseases in animal and humans, sanitary and phytosanitary standard (SPS) for crops and animals related export/import commodities. Dahiru has interest in agricultural and livelihood interventions in Nigeria.

He’s an editor, a writer, graphics designer, photographer, videographer, speechwriter, digital marketer, proposal development, grants-writing, & content development expert, WordPress website designer, ghostwriter, and blogger.

With over 7 years of consistent experience spanning marketing, public relations, and journalism, he has a deep knowledge of the workings of the media and creative industry and maintains a network of contacts and friends across all media platforms. He also has appreciable years of experience in marketing and the downstream sector of the oil & gas industry.
